28mm Sengoku Jidai Skirmish

The Blade is a Very Personal Weapon.

Once I got into miniature wargaming there was little doubt that I would at some point go heavy on the feudal era Japanese. While at first I went in for "Big Battle" set-ups, recently I have also moved into acquiring and painting figures for smaller skirmish actions. Here is what I have painted up so far. I also supplement with loose figures that I have not yet converted to my "Big Battle" basing system. All the figures are 28mm Perry sculpts, and from here on in I expect my club will be using Osprey's Ronin ruleset for our Sengoku Jidai skirmish action.

Roster (painted): Six Ninjas, Six Sohei Warrior Monks, Six Ikko-Ikki (who can also be warrior monks), Six Armed Peasants (who are technically Ikko-Ikki figures but look sufficiently rag-tag to be used as peasants), and six unarmored samurai.

Peasants (or more Ikko-Ikki)
